Judy Bell will share information as you hike along history trail exploring what happened in the Forestin the past. From the impact of the glaciers in forming the Loess Hills, the Nebraska Phase Peoples 1000 years ago, the fur traders, the explorers, and the early pioneers who walked these hills, and even on to early settlers who lived here. If you want to feel like an explorer, go on an adventure, or just learn more about our history while outside in a beautiful place, this is a fantastic way to do it.
Please make sure you have water and have used the restroom (there are no bathrooms available at Camp Wakonda) so you can focus on enjoying this amazing hike. (Meet at Camp Wakonda by 1:00 it can be difficult to find the trails and the group if you are late.) In case of inclement weather meet at Fontenelle Forest Nature Center for an inside version.
