Let’s celebrate the nationwide day of arts activism at KANEKO!
Arts Advocacy Day is an opportunity to have your voice heard. Assemble with arts organizations across the state and fellow citizens to emphasize the value of arts in your community. By reaching out to elected representatives you can show them the importance of supporting arts funding and positive arts legislation. Arts Advocacy Day is a nationwide day to garner support for issues like arts education policy, the charitable tax deduction, and funding for the National Endowment for the Arts.
What will Arts Advocacy Day look like?
KANEKO will host the Omaha community with advocacy opportunities from 3 – 7 PM on March 13th, 2018. Show your support and write a letter to your elected officials, or join us for a special Community Celebration from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. The Community Celebration is an open house event highlighting Omaha’s nonprofit arts organizations with performances, presentations, and remarks from community leaders. Cities statewide will be participating in various Arts Advocacy Day activities, find out how to get involved in your community!
Local arts organizations are encouraged to get involved at KANEKO! If you are an organization that would like to be a part of Nebraskans For The Arts’ Arts Advocacy Day, you can reserve your organization’s booth space by emailing [email protected]
