Zipline Brewing Co. has the same advice when it comes to beer and art: Buy Local!
Zipline Omaha is proud to feature local artist Nadia Shinkunas for a 6-week exhibition in our tasting room. Meet the artist and view her work on Friday, January 12th from 5-7pm (with extended happy hour pricing until 7!) Nadia will be selling hand made prints and buttons.
Nadia is a multi-dimensional artist based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, a resident at the Harvester Artspace Lofts. She obtained her BSA from University of Nebraska at Omaha, focusing on Sculpture and minoring in Art History. She builds, She paints, She draws, She wonders, She experiments, She obsesses over shadows, perspective and cartoons.
While living and working in a tiny studio apartment, Nadia’s craving for 3 Dimensional work began to manifest itself in what she calls “Metaphysical Illusionism”. Inspired by De Chirico, Sol LeWitt, James Turrell, and Donald Judd to name a few, Nadia aims to lead you to an unknown dimension where Up is Left, and Right is Backwards. Nadia has shown her own work in many local galleries; The RNG, Petshop/Sweatshop, The Little Gallery & Benson Underground Film Forum, as well as some non-traditional venues such as Larkin’s Parkin, and the former House of Loom. As an Artist Inc 2017 Cohort part of Nadia’s process is on view in the Variable Gain Exhibition in the Downtown Omaha Public Library through January 29th. She will also be showing at Tugboat Gallery for Lincoln’s February First Friday.
At 3 p.m. we will also be tapping a brand new beer: Blueberry Sour! This kettle soured ale is equal parts tart and refreshing. The sweetness from the blueberries perfectly balances out the tartness of the beer, giving you a perfect collaboration of sweet and sour.
