A world where the night never ends. Where man has no past. And humanity has no future.
Stylish film noir and insane pre-Matrix sci-fi from director Alex Proyas, DARK CITY was a pretty big disappointment when it first debuted at the box office back in '98. People weren't ready to give up their grip on reality just yet. But like BLADE RUNNER time has been kind to DARK CITY as an entire generation has found it through home video and repeterory screenings. A cult has risen up and now DARK CITY is almost essential viewing for awesome things to come out of the '90s.
This visually innovative genre mash-up has a man struggling with memories of his past, including a wife he cannot remember, in a nightmarish world with no sun that's run by beings with telekinetic powers who seek the souls of humans. (Greg MacLennan)
