Daily viewing: Aug. 3-12, 1-5pm • Donation
Watch the Monks recreate an ancient tradition by building a sacred sand painting dedicated to Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. Viewing the Mandala opens the mind and awakens the spirit. BUDDHA OF COMPASSION EMPOWERMENT
SATURDAY, Aug. 5 • 7pm • $25 ADV/$30 at door
The Bodhisattva Chenrezig embodies the universal compassion of all the Buddhas. This blessing of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara/Kwan Yin/Kannon) helps us be more peaceful and compassionate in times of instability. We are initiated to Chenrezig’s mantra: Om Mani Padme Hum, which contains the essence of all of Buddha’s teachings.

Chanting & Blessings
TRADITIONAL TEA CEREMONY
TUESDAY, Aug. 8 • 7pm • $15 ADV/$20 at door
The monks end their day with this warm, chanted ceremony reminding us to be grateful for blessings overflowing – literally. Participants may bring a wish or request for any kind of blessing. The ceremony will be followed by a brief, silent meditation.

Special Ritual
CHAY DROL: CLEARING OBSTACLES
THURSDAY, Aug. 10 • 7pm • $20 ADV/$25 at door
This powerful ritual helps remove the obstacles that prevent one from achieving enlightenment. The Lama places colored strings and fabric ritually fused to represent obstacles on participants. These obstacles are cut using Weapons of Wisdom, opening the door to liberation, wisdom and achieving your goals.

Proceeds from our fundraising events benefit the Gaden Shartse Monastic College’s effort to preserve the educational, spiritual and cultural traditions of Tibet. Omaha’s events have made significant contributions to the monastery over the past 20+ years, helping to: build the main temple and housing, enclose open sewers, build/equip health clinic and library, install solar water heaters, pay teacher’s salaries (currently $4/month) and provide medical care for the large number of Tibetans and refugees in the area.
